5 Best Websites for Cheap Airline Flight Tickets

Looking for cheap flight deals? Of course! I noticed a lot of people on Facebook asking for advice on finding cheap flights.

I could give you the standard advice of using sites like Expedia or TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, these sites are simply middlemen to the airlines and won’t save you much money. They are useful but won’t give you the biggest discount.

Let me introduce you to my stash of secret flight deal websites!

I subscribe to these newsletters to receive email notifications whenever a cheap flight deal comes up. You can save A LOT of money this way but you need to act quickly because the deals only last for a few hours or a few days at most.

These tickets are dirt cheap so enjoy the deals while they last!

#1 – TheFlightDeal.com

TheFlightdeal is one of my favorite cheap flights website because they post daily discounts according to your departure location. If you live in the US, then you can receive email notifications based on your city (Atlanta, NYC, Washington DC, NYC, etc).

For example, if you live in New York City, then check out TheFlightDeals’s NYC page to get discounts from New York airports. The same thing works for any major US city.

The downside is the deals expire very quickly and often require you to book well in advance. If you are a budget traveler and are able to plan in advance, then these site can save you a lot of money.

#2 – Skiplagged.com

Skiplagged is another cool website that finds cheap airline tickets by finding hidden airport locations in route to your final destination.

For example, let’s say you book a trip from NYC to Rio de Janeiro. The normal trip cost might be $800. However, Skiplagged finds a cheaper flight from NYC to Buenos Aires for only $650. All you have to do is fly from NYC to Rio de Janeiro then skip the final connecting flight.

It’s so effective at finding cheap tickets that United Airlines sued them in 2014. If you are flexible with your itinenary, Skiplagged can find you some very cheap flights in a hurry.

#3 – SkyScanner

Skyscanner is another favorite of mine because they aggregate all of the available fights in the world under 1 hub.

Simply enter your city of departure and destionation to pull up literally hundreds of available flights. Be sure to use the sort tool to filter out some of the flights according to # of connecting flights, airlines etc.

#4 – SecretFlying.com

SecretFlying is another amazing site that offers super cheap flight deals. As I’m writing this article, I just found a great deal from Washington DC to Cartagena, Colombia for only $285 through Delta Airlines.

I found another great deal from New York to Puerto Rico for only $221. Just click on the map or enter your city of departure to unlock some amazing discounts.

#5 – Adioso

Adioso is a great tool because it offers watch alerts that notify you when a ticket under your price range is available.

For example, let’s say you search for flights from Atlanta to Rio de Janeiro and find the cheapest price is $700. However, you are only able to spend $700 max on your plane ticket.

Click the “Watch Prices” button and enter your email and $700 as your max price range. When a plane ticket under $700 becomes available, you will receive an email for Adioso.

This is great for travelers who have lots of time to wait for a cheaper ticket and have very, very flexible flight dates. You may wait a while for a cheaper deal but your patience will eventually pay off (as long as you fly in the low season).
