10 Reasons Why This Black American Man Moved to the Philippines

Thinking about visiting the Philippines? Considering moving there permanently?

Map of the Philippines

The Philippines is a Southeast Asian country in the Western Pacific, comprising more than 7,000 islands. The population is 102 million, making it the 12th most populated country in the world according to United Nations estimates.

It’s a very popular place for tourists, especially western men looking for wives. I heard about a few stories about black men marrying Filipino women with great success, but that’s about all I knew. I joined a few asian dating websites and was surprised with my results! I was getting way more responses in Philippines than any other country in the world 🙂

One of our readers asked about the Philippines so I’m introducing you to a black American expat named Bobby Noren.

Meet Bobby Noren: Black Expat Living in the Philippines

I emailed Bobby a while ago and he seemed like a very passionate man who is serious about brothas finding happiness in the Philippines.

Bobby Noren is a Black American man who decided to leave in the matrix USA in 2012 and move to the Philippines. Not only did Bobby find freedom and peace, but ended up marrying a Filipino woman 18 years younger than he is. Bobby also runs a Youtube Channel (Check out his Youtube Channel).

Bobby explains Why he left America and Moved to the Philippines

Personal Message from Bobby

If you plan to move to the Philippines, then I bet you’ll be glad and happy you did.

It’s best to visit the Philippines first so that you’ll know what it’s like and how to better prepare yourself to have a great life abroad in this wonderful island paradise.

The Philippines is a very peaceful and tranquil country and makes you feel like you’re FREE.

The United States is supposed to be the only true free country in the world, but many of us don’t necessarily feel so free. However, you feel a greater sense of freedom in the Philippines.

I urge you to go there and see the Philippines for yourself.

Everywhere I went in the Philippines, almost all of the local men kept calling me Kobe Bryant.

The reason why Filipinos stare at Black american people so much is because they hardly ever get to actually see any black people from the USA, except on TV.

They are used to seeing White people because white people have always been coming to their country. It’s very rare to see genuine Black Americans there at anytime.

That’s why they treated me like a celebrity.

Here are several reasons why Black Men should consider escaping the Matrix USA to live in the Philippines.

1. More Freedom

Philippines woman running near the coast

The Philippines is a wonderful place to live because you get a great sense of freedom. You feel so much better in the Philippines than you do in the United States.

The racial tension and prejudice in places like America is so great that you can feel it in all settings like at your job or school.

Coming to the Philippines is a chance for a fresh start and break from the brutal American lifestyle.

2. Less Prejudice

America is guilty of some of the worst human rights violations in the world. If you live in the USA, then you already know what’s going on there.

In the Philippines, you are treated so much better. It’s like day and night.

Everyone’s experience will be different but keep in mind when you go to anybody’s country, you must carry yourself properly and adjust to their customs.

It’s important to readjust your behavior before moving to the Philippines. Western culture is a lot different than Filipino culture. As long as you are respectful and positive, you will have a wonderful experience.

Some people say great things and some people have bad things to say. Everybody will have a different experience but the key is to be humble and understand you are living in a different country with various customs, practices and beliefs.

3. Fewer Laws

US Capitol in Washington DC
US Capitol Building in Washington, DC

Western societies like America have thousands of laws on the city, state and federal level. It’s no surprise that America has the most prisoners on the planet.

Not only that, but black men in America make up the majority of prisoners and receive the longest sentences!

That doesn’t sound like freedom to me. However, the Philippines has fewer laws and fewer crimes.

There is no crazy child support system or racist judicial system that targets Black men with lengthy sentences for often harmless offenses.

4. Less Stress

America has some of the best infrastructure and technological advances in the world, but all of this “progress” comes at a cost.

People living in western societies suffer from stress, mental anguish and frustration due to the competitive, dog-eat-dog lifestyle.

It’s gotten so bad that fast food restaurants feed American families because they have no time to cook healthy food. Making money and paying bills takes away precious time and leaves you drained all the time.

This lifestyle affects your health as well, especially if you are trying to climb the corporate ladder and reach the western definition of success.

In order to reach the top, you must compete brutally against other people and fight your way to the top. Everything in America is a battle.

Educated men fight each other in the boardroom while thugs fight each other in the streets.

You are always fighting for success.

Once you become successful, then you have to work even harder to maintain your success. Many people refer to it as the “rat race” where you constantly work to keep your stuff.

It wreaks havoc on your soul and keeps you from finding true spiritual happiness in a more simplistic, down to earth society.

The Philippines is a great way to escape the rat race and live in paradise without breaking the bank!

5. Lower Cost of Living

Philippine Peso

Cost of living in the Philippines is 51% lower than living in the United States! Rent is 80% lower!

The official currency of the Philippines is the Philippines Peso.

Manila is the most expensive city (it’s the capital) but there are other cheaper places like Boracay and Cebu.

USD to Philippine Peso Exchange Rate

1 USD = 52 Pesos

The problem most foreigners make is they think in terms of US dollars. Remember to think of everything in pesos.

Otherwise, you will continue to spend and spend like water then everything will seem expensive. Be careful about what you buy and always think in terms of pesos not dollars.

6. Get the Respect You Deserve

Black Men Get Respect

The Philippines culture is all about respect and people are treated with kindness first unless they do something wrong.

If you’re a black man, you may feel like a rockstar or celebrity because you are treated with such kindness. It’s just unbelievable how nice they treat you.

There are instances where you may feel uncomfortable but you’ll experience some negativity everywhere. It’s a big planet after all. Your positive interactions will outweigh your negative ones in the long run.

Filipino women are very kind and treat men with respect. There are exceptions but I’ve never heard men complaining about how disrespectful Filipino women are.

Come with an open mind, leave the baggage back home in the matrix, and you may be surprised.

7. More Peaceful

The Philippines is Peaceful

If you live in western countries like America, then you will really appreciate the more friendly, gentle nature of the Philippines.

Things move slower. Everyone relaxes and takes their time. There is a growing middle class who follow the 9 to 5 lifestyle but the majority of Filipinos still live a relaxed island lifesyle.

Since everyone around you is much more relaxed, you feel like you can truly be yourself and let go. This brings more inner peace and satisfication than any job or sports car could ever provide.

8. Fewer Crimes

Colon Street, Cebu City, Philippines
Colon Street, Cebu City, Philippines

Many cities in Philippines are relatively safe and you don’t hear about violent crime all the time.

Let’s face it: America is a slaughter house. Just turn on the news and it’s nothing but murder, murder and more murders.

The average American watches 40,000 murders on TV by age 18.

That’s disgusting. Another reason to escape the MATRIX USA, especially if you have/want children.

Crazy psychopaths shoot up entire schools, drug addicts go on killing sprees, and people drive so fast in their cars that they split the entire car in half.

You won’t hear about people getting killed everyday in the Philippines. In the Philippines, people drive slow and take their time so there are fewer car accidents.

9. English is Widely Spoken

Philippines ranks #1 in Business English Profiency

The official language of the Philippines is Tagalog but English is widely spoken by locals.

Philippines used to be an American colony so there is a great deal of familiarity with the English language.

If you’re a black man who wants to live in a country with few language barriers, then the Philippines is one of your best options.

Learning Tagalog will help you understand the culture even more so check out our article on tagalog words to learn a few and increase your language skills.

10. Find Love

Beautiful Philippines Woman

Bobby left the matrix in 2012 and found the love of his life in the Philippines. If you’re looking for love, then the Philippines is a great place to find a wife or a few dates if you want to sample the menu.

If you want to chat up some Filipina women to test the waters, then try joining some Filipino dating sites and apps. You can make some connections and talk to Filipina girls right now if you join these sites and create a profile:

  • FilipinoCupid: The largest dating site in the Philippines. Best overall selection and my recommend place for finding a long term wife or GF.
  • PinaLove: The 2nd largest dating site and it’s the best places for chatting up girls for FREE.
  • FindMate: Another free dating site that has lots of Filipina girls online.

Joining these problems gives you a chance to start conversations with Filipino women and see if you like what you see before you book a ticket to Manila. It’s a cheaper and easy option to dip your foot in the water.

Testimonials from Black Men who Visited the Philippines

Want to hear more opinions on the Philippines? Here’s a few real testimonials from Black American men who visited and loved it.

“I miss the Philippines Every Day”

I grew up around Filipinos, as a black man, I was only going to stay there for a day or two. I ended up staying for a year.  It is a wonderful place, as long as you are respectful to the locals.  The only bad advice you will receive is from those rednecks, yes they are there, but they are bitches.  There were people who invited me to their home and fed me.  I had no problem helping people buy groceries, but if your over there looking to save a buck go somewhere else.  You will have an awesome time.  I am sick of living in this racist country [United States], I miss the Phils everyday.

“It’s Amazing and Fantastic”

spend 6 month in the philippines its amazing and fantastic to me and also even the education in the philippines is so great and more realistic than any other international place the country full of advantages i was in cebu so i recommend it for every student who want to finish his study and earn his degree plus u will enjoy the fantastic weather and all the beautiful beaches

“It was a very nice feeling”

I been in Cebu for one month. And I have been in Manila and also Mindoro. And it was awesome. I didn’t have racism hit me in the face like in the US. People was kind. I didn’t hear about killings on the news when I was there. It was a very nice feeling. And I we would like to make Cebu My home one day.

“I feel more safer there than here in America”

Everything you is right 100$%. I’ve been married for 7yrs and I meet my wife in Cebu but she’s from Ozamis Mindanao. We have 2 daughters 5 and 3. Forgot to say and I travel to meet her in a wheelchair and the people was excellent, they really took care of me. I feel more safer there then here in America.

My Thoughts about Bobby’s Video

I know there is a lot of truth to Bobby’s video because I met a few filipino woman in America.

I remember one situation a few years ago when I was traveling through Atlanta and stopped at the airport deli market to pick up a magazine and some snacks.

When I went to the checkout counter, I spoke with two women working there: a Black Americanized woman from Ethiopia and a Filipino American woman.

The Ethiopian woman wore one of those hair weaves and had a nasty attitude as well. She was also overweight.

The Filipino woman was curvy but had a small waist. She smiled at me as she scanned my items and asked me where I was going. It was like night and day!

I know this isn’t enough to draw a conclusion about the Philippines but it sure made me curious.

In a country where women have become extremely rude and demanding, I found hope that at least some women in America are still sweet and feminine.

Let’s face it: A lot of Bobby’s comments about American society rings true. It’s a slaughterhouse full of murder, lies, violence, evil and all things against God.

I’m happy that Bobby escaped the MATRIX USA and found happiness in the Philippines. I will definitely visit in the near future and share my experiences.

Here’s What You Need to Visit the Philippines

So you’re ready to book a vacation to the Philippines? You’ll need a few things before you go:

  • Official Passport: You need a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity. Don’t hae a passport? Read this article to learn how to apply for your US Passport.
  • Philippines Visa: The Philippines issues a free 30 day visa to US citizens on arrival. You can extend your visa every 30 days for around $10 up to 3 years. If you’re a non-american citizen, check online to see your visa requirements. It’s easier to get a Philippines visa than most countries.
  • Unlocked Smartphone: Get an unlocked smartphone so you can use a local Philippines SIM card once you arrive. My current smartphone is a Moto e5 Dual SIM Unlocked smartphone.

  1. This is a well put together article. I wish I had found this article years ago, although I married a Filipina and moved to the Philippines about ten years ago.
One thing I found kind of interesting about expats and their interest in Filipinas and what Filipinos tend to think expats are looking for are often two very different ideas. Filipinos often think expats are looking for what they call mestizas (typically white looking Filipinos).
The factual common choice that I have seen for myself just happens to be what expats call exotic, are dark skinned women with less European features. I read in a forum once where a Filipino male asked Western expats where he could find a white woman. The expat responded that he was on a Philippine forum because he wanted nothing to do with white women. I thought that was funny because I was there not to necessarily avoid white women but to avoid Westernized women of every ethnic group. Why would I go to another country looking for women anything like Westernized women?

  2. Thanks for showcasing Philippines. Philippines is like just in any countries, there are areas that are not safe more over for tourists/foreigners. Honestly, cities in Philippines is not ideally planned place to live in. You would find a house beside a factory and etc. So for tourist it is not really an ideal place to visit, just to pass through as most of the working infrastructure is there also the cost of living in the City are much more higher.

If you want to live in a far flung areas away from pollution, overpopulation and sky high prices then I think you should live in provinces/rural areas. People who live outside the cities are much more approachable, honest, simple, friendly and most will understand English.

Here’s some pros of what it’s like to live in rural areas:
1.Clean air. fresh foods. relax to the max… of course you still have to earn a living. Most people who live in rural areas are farmer, so people go to the farm.

    2. Less stressful living. No traffic to compete with. People in the province live a very relaxing life.. sometimes up to 100 years old!

    3. Low cost of living is a winner. I like to live in rural areas because prices of everything is relatively low here as compare to living in the city. Sometimes, people even survive without so much money because they grow food like rice and vegetables.

But there are disadvantages though. It’s not always rainbows and butterflies. If you decide to move to the rural province, expect this:

    1. everything is slow mo.. including internet connection. so if you have an urgent online work, good luck.
    2. slow mo part 2. it’s not like in the city where everyone moves at a fast phase.. even buying in the sari sari store could take ages because you have to wake up the owner who is sleeping, or watching tv, or chatting.
    3. culture is different. sometimes even the language is different. unlike in the city, where you don’t know your neighbor, in rural areas, everyone knows everyone… so if you have a conflict with someone, be careful coz the whole family of that someone might be in conflict with you too.

Whatever the location ultimately chosen whether it be urban, beach, or rural you should always keep a low profile in the Philippines and never get involved in local politics. Make friends with the neighbors and become an active member of the local community which of course is good advice for any expat wherever they are living.

I also want to add up that we Filipino people doesn’t have an issue with the skin colors for as long as you are being respectful, friendly and kind. But honestly, we appreciate the black people’s personality as they have the pure heart and we find them as the most friendly, the vibes is very different where we can get a long very well with no awkwardness. and if you are being scammed with some Filipinas then blame yourself. You have to know the person very well before letting them in to your life. Don’t be surprise of being scammed if you got your woman from bars or club.

  3. Why do black men always talk about penis sizes, probably that’s the only one thing, they think they have. Black mans brain is probably in their pants, and not all black men are big. penis size is perhaps the only prize they have. One needs to be big in the brain.

  4. Classic. Filipinos never accept responsibility for anything. Except maybe another Filipinos accomplishments they read about. Constantly point finger. When the Brit was killed in Philippines by his own security Guard and I searched his name he had driven his Truck personally to a Filipino Disaster Area to help them. But when he got shot 6 times and in the face for firing his Filipino Guard who came to work drunk again the Guard just said he disrespected me with his words. And all the Filipino comments on Yahoo were in defense of the Murderous Guard getting disrespected. This is how they are to the core. Marry them love them date them but know what you are truly dealing with. They will align against you for themselves every time.

I want to end on a positive note and that would be these Filipino Mormons I met that are like family to me. Filipinos do judge books by covers just like a Trump Supporter but when some get to know you they will treat you better than your own blood family.

Not all…remember the story of the guy that married Filipina, paid for house, went back to complete his affairs and when he came back to his bride and house he bought they would not let him inside own house nothing he could do. Property has to be in her name unless you do some creative Condo deal. Reality.

  5. “She told me she got passed out and got gang banged. No reason to lie or exaggerate..I can tell you tons of positive stories as well as I share above if you took the time to read all my comments. You sound very much like a Trump ass kisser and he can never do any wrong. “B white”? you are probably a MAGA Mail Bomber anyway”

    Golden Brown

The more you talk the ignorant you sound. Never voted for trump never kissed ass either. The only boxes i mail are balikbayan. Really thats all you got. That was pitful!

“No reason to lie or exaggerate”
So you making up stuff about someone you know nothing about?
Filpino woman have to much pride to tell that to someone they dont know, unless you married her and your not telling?

    • I speak of my personal experiences…..Ignorant would be making a general statement about Filipino women as if there are not 20 Million forum and blog posts easily found from year after year from people all over the Planet to the contrary. Please just B White because you certainly can not be intelligent.

  6. She told me she got passed out and got gang banged. No reason to lie or exaggerate..I can tell you tons of positive stories as well as I share above if you took the time to read all my comments. You sound very much like a Trump ass kisser and he can never do any wrong. “B white”? you are probably a MAGA Mail Bomber anyway.

  7. Golden Brown
“I had a woman come to my house with her thumb on her lip to hide herpes on her mouth”.

When I was elementary school I had classmates who had cold sores. Children get cold sores all the time in America and they are not sexually active. You can kiss someone who does not have an outbreak and still get that one.

Kids can get HSV-1 by kissing or touching a person with cold sores, or by sharing eating utensils, towels, or other items with an infected person. Many kids get infected with HSV-1 during the preschool years.
    Cold Sores – Kids Health

I just had to comment because what you said was so ignorant. You can catch coldsores without ever having sex or kissing anyone. You never know the girl you kicked probably not the whore you thought she was.

    • She told me she got passed out and got gang banged. No reason to lie or exaggerate..I can tell you tons of positive stories as well as I share above if you took the time to read all my comments. You sound very much like a Trump ass kisser and he can never do any wrong. “B white”? you are probably a MAGA Mail Bomber anyway.

  8. So much more I do not add but a taste would be just the local news where I am now in lapu lapu mactan. 17 year old rapes and chops up his own GF out of jealousy. Filipino man kills and peels face off woman he met on facebook that did not like him when they met. Is this crap normal in every place? I had a woman come to my house with her thumb on her lip to hide herpes on her mouth. When I kicked her ass out and paid for cab home they looking at me like I am the monster.

  9. The pettiness of the Filipino is unlimited. I can not believe these things take place but they do. No matter what you or do a filipino will find a way to use it against you I mean the most mundane stupid silly petty thing you can imagine!

OK I have to put my trash out across the street next to a tree and they pick it up whenever. I am the foreigner. They only see me going to gym eating healthy pretty damn boring I confess. But when I have reason to celebrate I will get their local rum only 65 proof is good enough for me half pint small bottle.

They are so fucking nosy this place I have to buy cloth bags because Filipinos put eye lasers on your bags no matter what it is every time coming or going!

But we are talking my garbage here.

I am the type I put bags in bags several layers in case something leaks. So I remember putting the empty half pint bottle in a bag and another bag just so it would not show because I know they are going to be all over the bag anyway. I throw the bags away sit next to the tree.

Now a day or 2 later I bring another bag to the tree and what do I see? Somebody took my garbage..sifted thru it then left the empty rum bottle for me to see hahahaha like I am suppose to be shamed by it.

This is what they do try to shame each other their entire pathetic lives. Now let’s get this straight…I am suppose to be shamed when THEY went thru MY Garbage hahahaha. They are just low petty idiots.

I say petty because it boggles my mind what these people will do.

Last week….I go to get the half pint bottle because my B day is coming up I only drink on special occasions. But I have been there to get a half pint maybe like 5 times total.

Of course these little pretty boy wannabee have to whisper to the female workers something like oh he must be a drunk or some shit they have to say something.

So but now they move the entire stock of that bottle from the section so I can not find it. The most popular and most fully stocked item at all times.

THIS IS THE FILIPINO BRAIN. PETTY AS SHIT. Anything they observe and I mean anything they will find a way to put some type of drama into your life for their entertainment. They know it and I damn sure know it.

They travel to every country sucking money out and you go to their country and spend money and they just assume you look down on them so what can they do to make your life miserable. Women men it does not matter. Evil petty people.

Of course there are good ones I always mention it but when you go thru this mindless petty bullshit it’s good to just let it out and move on. Each petty thing they do will be custom just for you on what they observe. What may piss you off in any way. They live for that petty shit.

  10. I never visited the Philippines. However, I traveled extensively in Southeast Asia. The comments in this section are for the most part disturbing and disconcerting. Although there were some positive experiences shared, the majority of the comments were negative. Frankly, lying women and con games are not restricted to the Philippines, but anywhere poverty and ignorance abound. My journeys have taken me around the world. Notwithstanding the differences in culture and language, I have dealt with the same human failings of dishonesty and disloyalty everywhere. The Philippines is not perfect and nowhere else is either. If one really wants to expatriate and marry a foreign wife that is ok, just don’t enter the situation blindly and with unrealistic expectations.

  11. I been coming to the Philippines since 2013. Until 2016.. Then I decided to move here. A great place to retired. Since 2013..I came to the Philippines once a year and stayed up to 30 day’s on a multi Visa means you can stay here up to 3 years if you like. But after 3 years you have to leave for 1day 24hrs and then you can return back. Then it’s start all over again. But I do leave every 2 years to go home to see my family for up to 1 to 2 months then I’m back to the Philippines my second place I can call home. I have no problem on returning. I’m about to get married! Then the Philippines gonna be my other place I can call home. Peace and quiet then America.

  12. Yes I definitely did enjoy my trip last year to the Philippines; and yes next month I’m going back. I really don’t know it may be all that you say; definitely I’m more relaxed or liberated humble etc once I’m in the Philippines. I tell all my colleagues at work you have to go and experience for yourself you’ll think about life in a different way. Yes the Ladies are breath taking; still can’t get a few of them out of my mind. I could go on and on; you just have to see for yourself as a single man.

  13. Well everything you said my friend The Majikkal Kano is TRUE. And even if I agree…there is another side. Ever been late for a payment? Ever asked a Filipino who knows you for help? Its not like USA, they are extremely flexible and understanding where you can have leeway you could never get in USA. Even total strangers walked in the rain for me to find a place once. They can be amazingly friendly, trusting, and caring. And yes..every single thing you mentioned.

They are like Trumpsters. Take no responsibility for anything and hate you for breathing. And if you leave anything they can touch it will be taken or damaged just for fun. Anything they learn about you any patterns they see they will use against you. That one person that sincerely loves you so much will never see it coming when they try to destroy you.

I was sitting in barbershop the other day and one guy starts talking shit in their language its very obvious and I am thinking I paid that guy triple when he cut my hair….then the guy cutting my hair asks me how long I been here and that is code for you are overstaying and this guy I been paying triple the fee for my cut and talking shit. Then there is fruit stand next to the shop and that guy ask me do I speak Tagalog and that is code word for he also wants to talk shit about you while you are sitting right next to him and how may times have I bought fruit from that guy? Its pathetic,

Filipinos travel all over the world and suck the money out…send it home to Philippines…I am here giving them money and they talk shit. You give them respect and you get back a shit sandwich more often than not. But as I type this a 20 year old beautiful Filipina has interest in me on the dating site…and that does not happen in USA. What can you do. ha. But still have to be weary of the honeys some can be virgins some walking talking STDs. But ever been to Wash. DC? Same.

    • There are some 3rd world inefficiencies that will work in your favor along with the occasional friendly local who may treat you well bc he expects something out of it. I think the bad outweighs the good though.

I think most expats that like the Philippines live in the Provinces or AC, Davao, parts of Cebu, outskirts of Manila. They are also a bit older too. I still don’t see it. I have lived in 2 major cities here.

The girls here are meh as well…way overhyped and I just don’t see the big deal about Filipinas. Too many garbage sluts and pump and dump nonsense. Harder than the US to find a quality girl that doesn’t make you look like an idiot in public. Not loyal and not many good looking girls are left since they just become bargirls or immediately try and go abroad to work or marry some goofy white dude. I can’t take them seriously. I’ve gone through quite a bit of them. I need someone I can relate to…

It’s so lonely here as well bc I’m younger than your typical expat so no chance to make decent friends. I’m done with this place, but I’m going to document my experience in such a hilarious way that it will make the motherfuckers lose face like they never have before. Their country is a joke. And their day in the sun is over. There’s not enough negative about the country. Just too many guys saying “ohhh its so great the ppl are great blah blah blah” when that isn’t really the case.

Guys who are thinking about moving to the Philippines better peep game and think twice and thrice. Yeah, you’ll get laid, but this shit costs for real.

      • You certainly know how to articulate the very real experience. It is a shame tho. Getting play from teens and 20s cuties is a bit addicting but the majority you do pay a big tax on everything here. Even if you found a virgin better count how many siblings she has and how many have not been thru school cus guess who is paying.

But the way they can live in terrible conditions and always trying to shame each other is mind boggling.

You see so many married couples stay together but also the young males who Hit and Run and Hop on a Ferry and the Filipina Hops on the Internet pregnant looking for us foreigners.

Guys act like Gossip beaches. if they dont know something no problem they will just make up some crap and anything you say can and will be used against you. If I had a white honey in USA it would be pretty much the same…I would never trust any Trumpsters..they will terrorize your food for having a better car than them on and on.

  14. Agree with Jory and golden brown. I personally have a huge dislike for Filipinos and the Philippines in general. I’ve been living here.

The people are rude, ignorant assholes who gossip about you because they can’t amount to shit so they drag you down in their nonsense. Very big bullies. I’m surprised more people don’t get killed or poisoned out here. I’m sure my food has been tampered with on multiple occasions. They don’t like foreigners.

I’m not really sure why some brothas like phils so much. Expensive in metro areas, shit food, shit Internet connection, low IQ culture that’s really degenerate. Not really the place to live. I also think Filipinos and their so called hospitality is bullshit. Their friendliness is overstated fake. Their smiles are contrived. One of these days I’m hopefully going to put together a blog and huge body work that will shed light on the fake ass hucksters and frauds known as Filipinos. Also quite a racist place with all the yo my nigga wassup dawg. More racist than I expected.

The women are big time whores and sluts, no disrespect to anybody. Not suitable for long term relationships unless you are looking for a pet or maid.

I’m on my iPad and Im tired of typing but one I will expose these low lives for the trash they are. Welcome to the Philippines.

  15. I have been in Philippines for over 5 years now. No Chains on me so something must be great. There are alot of experiences I have had.

First of all I have met some of the most kind and dear giving unselfish helpful People you can find in the universe. I have seen Filipino loan money to Foreigners they do not even know well. Once I went to Bohol and the Ferry was late to arrive and some students helped me find a place very late at night in the pouring rain. Incredible.

But there are some small things that could effect your experiences here. If you do not smile or if you do smile can totally effect your day, the service you get, the treatment you get. Its just perception. I used to squint from the sun and not realize I had a serious angry type look on my face and Filipinos do not react positively to that. But even if you had a frown and catch yourself and force a smile…they will smile back its amazing.

Now in USA I was a pretty good dresser and I like quality. But when you come to Phillipines flaunting could cost you your life and at the very least make you a prime target to robbers.
Yeah sometimes you may feel like a Celebrity ….but in reality sometimes they are sizing you up how they can get in your pockets somehow most times.

I never saw a crime ever since I have been here except for a cell phone jacker on a jeepney and a kid running with a store owners change box. But if you were to pick up the local newspaper on any given day its full of crime every time.

Once I kid you not there was 3 big Crime stories on the front page and all of them were stories of The Cops getting arrested for crimes!

Filipinos have not had alot of life experience. Once I offered to fix a girls front tooth…yes you can find beautiful women here missing their entire front grill!

And she said she can not go to the Dentist that day because she was on period. Some Wise person told her that. You just have to deal with it.

Once I was at a food cart and the woman asked me where I was from. I said Black American like Obama and she said she dont like blacks. Of course I asked….she said cus my daughter dated a black guy and he was scammer. I said where was he from she said he was African Nigeria. I told her that is like me not liking you because of a Japanese experience…I am sure she did not figure out what I meant. Then I told her if she trust Filipino to leave her money on the table and go to lunch.

But there is a pettiness within the Filipino. Some like a Trump supporter will hate you no matter what.

When Filipinos see a foreigner they spit. Its like saying Fuck you and you feel it. Nobody mentions it but I am very observant.

I just wear mostly Nike gear cus I love to work out. For some reason the way I walk or look comes off as arrogant. And once they feel you are arrogant they are like Terrorists.

If Filipinos see you shopping and buy the same foods over and over…they will terrorize that food and open it and spit in it or something. This happen I noticed twice. Once in Cebu once in Lapu Lapu. I was buying a jar of nuts sometimes daily or peanut butter and once I got home to find 3 fingers had gouged out half the jar. Then with the nuts I was getting it every day and notice the foil seal was broken on several jars as if someone opened them to spit in them.

Once I was at a McDonalds and some little gay dude came from the cooking area and just stood and starred at me as if to figure out whether he was going to do something to what ever food I had ordered or not.

I have had Filipinos cut clothes and sheets if they are drying on a line for absolutely no reason but to see your expression. They are not happy unless someone is unhappy.

Do not worry if they have nothing to gossip about…they will just make it up.

They point the finger just like Trumpsters take no responsibility for anything.

I had to go to internet cafes for a while and nothing but cursing and screaming when they could be finding a way to make money…unfortunately most of the filipinas have figured that part out and milk guys from all over the world for cash daily.

Filipinos have to talk shit constantly..not sure why….they have to feel like they are the coolest and most macho on the planet. You never have to wonder if they talking shit about you because its Guaranteed.

Filipinas are very promiscuous. They believe in stay with you but have sex behind your back because they think you are doing it to them.

Philippines very close to Australia and lots of guys here look like they never heard of a bar of soap. These are the guys having unprotected sex with these girls and along with the hit and run filipino man who just takes virginity gets them pregnant at 16 and just jumps on a ferry never to be seen again in that area..nothing but STDS. At the same time you can still find Virgins even in their 20s.

Sometimes you win with a young filipina who does not have a head full of bad habits but it can also be mostly empty. But the older they get the more pessimistic they get and they really do not trust anymore at that point.

Always Shabu bust….they love meth and coconut wine. But its very religious..that is a good thing even if they have no clue the catholic church is just a bunch of Pedos.

Being friendly will take you along way here but sometimes you are kissing their ass just to avoid drama.

Be careful…everything the Filipina finds out about you its to sue against you later. And its funny you can go to the market just to get some fruit but they feel its ok to ask you where you from you married, how you long you been there all in the same breath. Every where you go.

I was walking today and a bunch of male students in their uniforms were about to walk past me and one of them thought it would be cool to say Whats up Bitch? And I was the only one on the sidewalk. I could have gone off on them or said not much tiny dick but I just ignored it and kept walking.

I had a Filipina Girlfriend who told me if a filipino was in the wrong she would still take the filipino side. I never said anything but I lost all respect for her when she said that.

The story of the Brit sums it up here.

The Brit that was killed sums up filipinos. He had a Security Guard for his business that kept coming late and drunk and one day fired the guard. The Guard emptied his gun and killed the Brit business owner. Later the guard said he was disrespected the way the owner talked to him.

When I read the story it was on yahoo and with comments…all the filipinos were siding with the guard that he should not have been treated like that. Then I looked up the Brits name on the internet and he has driven his truck to a filipino disaster area to personally give assistance to the filipinos after a disaster. And these ignorant people were on yahoo defending his killer. Never send them anything after a disaster…they do not deserve it. They think their country is as big as America with their attitudes but when they get attacked remember what their President said…he wants to end ties with USA and Fuck Obama. The guy that got rich in Davao after killing the drug dealers but keeping the loot.

My advice if you come to Philippines get to know business owners. They will give you great advice when you need it and know the Baranguay captains. Filipinos seem to back off from their you in my country we in charge in here attitudes when you know a little bit.

OK I appreciate my little chance to share and little bit rant we sometimes have to let it out.

So if you can get over the Pettiness of the Filipino you can find the awesomeness of the Filipino.

Great adventures to everyone and watch your back… If you do come have discipline. They have call centers here and they have happy hours at 8am after their shift and they are drinking beers and singing Karaoke…if you do not have discipline at home you damn sure will not have it here. 🙂

    Regards,
    More Golden Brown

  16. Hi @Scovens, for your trip I would look around suitable communities areas where you would like to live. I like the Lipa Batangas area, its close enough to the city and to the beach for a bit of diving on the weekends. A typical new 3 or 4 bedroom is around 3 or 4 million peso (You just need to find a loving woman to share it with). I dont like the built up areas plus the pricing is prohibitive, places like Makati and around the metro. I have a long table and short wall philosophy and am happy to help out locally where I can but dont lend anyone any money. I would advise caution with websites, maybe check out your local Philippino scene where you are. They are all over the world as amazing OFW’s. These are ladies who have chosen to leave behind everything and start again in a new country. Most will be supporting family, kids and relatives and have a fantastic mind set. Take your time. Running a business in the Philippines is a hit and miss affair. Generally the bigger it is the better the chance it will be profitable, otherwise you should research more here. You dont want to run out of money. I lived in Thailand for 10 years before moving to the Philippines. I spend my time now between Singapore and Lipa and am very happy. I have loving wife who is 33, I’m 50 this year and we have a beautiful daughter. We both also have kids from our previous relationships.. This country has its faults but its fun loving people and ways make me very happy to be here. Compared to my old life in the UK it amazing. For people of colour, Philippineos dont hold race against anyone or alternatively elevate them. They are a very trusting people who will treat you with grace, humor and respect unless you give them reason not to. My final advice is stay away from the bar and sex scene. I’ve never heard of a story that works out and have sadly heard so many that dont and worse. Life is to short for too much heartache. Best you relax with people you love and whom love you, and enjoy the things that make you happy.

  17. I think this is a great forum. I’m a 51 year old black man been looking at going to the Philippines for years now (gotta pay Uncle Sam some back money before I can get a passport). Any suggestions on the best places to visit as my first trip? Which places to stay away from? Does anyone suggest finding a lady on one of the dating websites first (if so, which one)? Finally, what are good sources of income there if someone doesn’t have big dollars from a retirement and SSI might not be around when I’m ready to retire…thanks

  18. Lived there for 13 consecutive years and loved every minute of it. I agree wholeheartedly with this article, it is an accurate assessment of how and what to expect. Like they say, “you don’t know what the sweetest is unless you had tasted the bitterest.”

  19. Everton you are right. You find who is right for you and forget about what color a person is! You love whoever makes you feel happy! Im married to a ilocona and im black and we have a 2 year old daughter together. My wife has a lot of half black and filipino Americans on her side of the family. And we did not meet in a bar… I have been all throughout the Philippines and they love Black men there and they treated me like a celebrity. .. JOORY does not know what he is talking about and his comment was ignorant…But they do marry fat old white man who give them money.but they rather have sex with a black man..lol…im 37 yrs old and im at 19 yrs in the Air Force. I experienced it all in the Philippines in the past..joory is an idiot and he is wrong!

  20. most of what joory said is true filipinos do like white men more ,cause few reason most of them wants to have half white half filipinos babies ,,most of the actors and actress are half white half philipinos .most go to the malls to get out the sun ,most bleach their skin to get white,,some believe having half white half philipinos babies thats their way out of their current situation.when u marry a philipino lady u also marry into the family ,NOT MARRY THE FAMILY.fellows am a BLACK MAN ,i am going to marry a philipino lady i am 50 she is 38 years old.MEN OF ALL RACES , having a philipino wife ,you must set ur agenda how u would want it weathers u live here in america or in others parts of the world or in the philippines . YOU ARE THE MAN THE HEAD OF THE HOUSE LIKE GOD THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH.i was also there in the military i was a marine now after 27 years i am back there again to find my wife which i found her. men try to chose or try to find the right lady for you , forget about who dont like who just find the correct one for you.thanks fellows

  21. If you are a black man thinking of moving to Philippines ask your partner of the Aeta/ Ati tribe of the Philippines without googling it and listen to her. These are the Negros of Philippines. At times I wonder what is wrong with the black men, you need to fix your tribe and stop running around the whole world trying to fix other tribes and culture that will throw you out the moment you are no more useful to them. There is definitely something wrong with the black race.

  22. Filipinos do not like black people. you only get respected as a black person if you have money and from America other than that they prefer whites. They have temper and their cheating rate is very high. When you are dating or is married to a filipina, you will be marrying all her family including the extended. They do not trust any other nationality except their own, even if you marry her and send her in any part of the world, her heart will still be at her place and she will want her children to be trained in Philippine.
They appear respectful, caring and have a can do anything attitude but majority of them are actually wolves in sheep clothing. They are territorial, possessive and can go to any length to get a man. If you found one and are actually happy with her (fooling you) go ahead, be happy.

  23. I am a Filipina and I’m proud to say that Philippines is the best country to live. People are very warm. Yummy foods, nice beaches and nice weather. Thank you for this blog.
Proud Filipina here. God bless everyone

  24. Hi. Excuse me but Iam Japhet from Libreville/Gabon/ Center Africa. I don’t speak english very well. I find u’re article very interessant for any traveler, black people first.

  25. my name is ej i live in washington dc i have a small hvac business ,i will also move to the philippines very soon the people the woman are so dam nice that will be my home very soon ,also hoping to find a wife there also

  26. @Clint Digger, I would piss on you if ever I had the chance. White people have brought nothing but death, destruction and change for the worse wherever they have been! You’ve got a lot of nerve!

  27. Wow, you guys are sad. You destroy everything that you touch in America and then come over here to do the same. I retired over here to get away from all the black trash that was living off welfare and food stamps and then had the balls to complain about not getting their “fair share”. Filipinos are nice people, and every person that I know who took the time to get to know any black people over here stopped talking to them as soon as they realized how toxic they are. The behavior of the black people playing basketball is only one example. If I saw one of you walking down the street, i would spit on you! Go home and quit stinking up this nice country.

    • Clint..more white people are on welfare than Blacks in the US you idiot. And what about pedophellia in the US and the Philippines..which are mainly committed by Whites. You are the scumbag that is stinking up the country! Im a black man married to a filipina and my wife’s family have a lot of Black Americans in their family. I showed them your comment and they were shocked about how ignorant you are! You are a dumbass!

    • Knowing good and damn well if you spit on a black man you would have your body shattered and you’d be able to tell us how good or bad the medical care is in the Philippines.

  28. be wary of the filipino ladies, many will scam you out of your money, i am a retired u.s. army veteran found a filipino on the web site, later married, and found out she steals money from me, she scams me also, when i went home for surgery, she invited a filipino man to my house, he slept there 3 days, i was told this by a filipino friend, yes i left her but i lost the house, a car, furniture, too much of a loss, i’m still living here but i will not fall in love with any filipina, i’m just afraid to get burnt again, good luck

  29. Hey

I’m in school now to become a physical therapist assistant and I was wondering (I’m black btw) if I would be able to work as a physical therapist over in the Philippines? Is there anyway I could find out.. What site would I have to look up in order to find this information.. Any advice would be helpful thanks people bless!!

  30. Hi my name is jerry and I have never been to the philippines, but I met my wife when I was in the army in 1990. we were pen pals and shared letters for 2 years and I asked her to be my wife , I tried to visit her there but at that time the volcano erupted and the army would not let me travel there . So I sent for her to come here it took a year for her to get here so much red tape , but she arrived here in 1992 and we got married and have been married for 24 years and have 2 daughters grown . I will retire from american and move there with my wife , me and my wife are both 50 years old we met each other when we were 29 yrs old .

  31. Low crime… What the hell part of the phillipines is he at… Look it is a great place to visit and even live if that’s what you want but yeah be prepared to see a lot of poverty.. Ummmmmmm security guards at local stores with guns … And feeling free means you can’t have a flashy appearance then yeah it’s a chill place… But yeah there is a skin issue in that country because the aboriginal people get treated kinda shitty out out there.. Negrito mean anything to this guy….

  32. Iam a black man from US.I have been living in Roxas City,Capiz,Philippines since Nov 4 2015.Married a native.Live on Baybay beach.Retired.Iam totally 100% satisfied. It is a different world.Where I live.Motor tricycles are the main public transportation. No traffic lights. No road rage.Everyone is extremely patience and kind.Ive seen one other black American from US visiting.Iam it?Dosent matter.Iam treated better than Ive ever have.People are very curious.Iam 63 but very active.Still can run a full court in basketball. On the beach every morning at sunrise. No racism here or disrepect that Ive seen.Iam at a wonderful peace.I love hot weather..I wore suits my whole career in NYC and now just shorts and polo’s..Swim trunks..The dollar right now is 47.2 pesos to a dollar. We have a 3 bedroom apt.on the beach.2baths and great neighbors.Oh yes for only $138 US…6500 pesos..I get a modest 75000 pesos per.month early retirement SSI.Everything is so inexpensive.Hong Kong and Singapore are just a couple hours plane ride…There is so much to do and so many beautiful places to visit.I dont have not one regret for making my decision.Sure I will visit family friends back home in the states but this is home now.Peace!

    • Hi am in the valley in the decision. My fiance is in Quezon city , I want to live in the province near Davao city. I’ve been to the Philippines twice already. I have experienced the peaceful living, there too. I don’t feel home anywhere except when I’m there. I must create streams of income once I arrive. Thank you for your blog.

    • Yes I’ve enjoyed my travels to the Philippines, my third trip is hopefully after the holidays in December. You have to experience the Hospitality of the Pinays and Pinoys, and just the difference of just being yourself freely regardless of skin color. I encourage anyone to travel there, and as a Black Man most definitely make the voyage; you will not be disappointed only to say we I haven’t done it sooner.

  33. I was in the navy, but I never made it to the Philippines. Naval ships just stopped going there when I was stationed in japan. However, I have been everywhere else the navy was going in southeast asian. Everything he says is correct about every other country I have ever visited. I was treated better there than I get treated here.

    • your comment speaks volumes about this cesspool country. you are a serviceman. none other taught to be more patriotic. but the facts speak louder than the lies and smokescreens. just know i’ve ran into many other servicemen with your disposition.

  34. @ Manny E. Irizarry @eirizarryRNB Any woman can cheat on you with any man requardless of their dating history. You notice there is no derogatory term for women who exclusively date clones of the Charleston shooter. Notice the nuance? We shouldn’t use dork supremacist terminology and shaming tactics.

Before traveling it might be a great idea to invest in suitcase/bag that has a “TSA lock”. The have them on ebay. Airport officials in the Philippines have been caught planting things in travelers bags. I locking bag would prevent this. Also pants with zipper pockets to prevent pick pockets.

Manny E. Irizarry @eirizarryRNB I see you on HappierAbroad also.

  35. This is my problem: the kind of woman I’m looking for cannot be a “mudshark”. Every time I have dated a “mudshark”, she cheated on me for a Black man because she thought I wasn’t Black enough (and I’m not. I happen to be attracted to curvy types that Black men go gaga over).

I’m tired of being looked at as Black when I have so much more individuality. I speak three different languages that most Black American men cannot barely speak one or two; yet I’m put into the Black American caricature.

I want a woman, that if she has dated a Black guy, that he was non-thug and dated him because he was a man, not because he was a Black [American] man, yet has nice curvature.

I am tired of dating “mudsharks” especially dark-skinned Black women that only want me for reproduction purposes of having a baby with non-coarse hair. It’s frustrating.

    • Your attitude is what is messing you up. First of all referring to people as “mudsharks”. Maybe people think you are a “oreo” or vanilla wafer”. Get over yourself. Have a better attitude and you will find that pleasant people will be attracted to your life.

  36. Somethings are probably true, however; guns are rampant in the Phillipines because people who used to farm has now turn to making guns cause it much more profitable. And then the political scene is equivalent to Ronald McDonald Thump. Most of the president candidate have faced assination attempts constantly. Just say not disputing but know, there are good and bad EVER place you go, including paradise.

  37. Yes! I’ve been waiting for info on the Philippines. There is a lot of information on the web about the country, but there are few sources that give a black American man’s perspective. It’s definitely on my bucket list of countries to visit. I may even consider living there. My only problem with the Philippines is the health care system. I’ve read from other sources that health care in the Philippines is sub-par. That doesn’t bode well for someone who wants to retire there, as we know our health declines as we get older. Although I’ve not read of any complaints from expats who have retired there. Maybe they’re all relatively healthy.
