I have been living in Panama for a little over a week now. It’s not a perfect place, but provides all the amentites of the USA without all the racist police and crazy behavior BS.
Feel free to ask me more about Panama and be sure to check out my article:September 13, 2016 at 12:22 am #16194
What’s the best way to get around Panama City? Would you recommend taxi? Uber? Shuttle? Rental car?September 13, 2016 at 3:32 am #16199
Wow this looks great. Do you know a ball park figure about how much it would cost for a week’s stay there? Also I did not know that Panamanians were so black/Africoid/African. It would be interesting to learn the history of Panama as it pertains to the slave trade. Also, do you know of any employment opportunities as it would relate to Americans, westerners or English-speaking people?September 13, 2016 at 12:41 pm #16200MikeD2275 wrote:What’s the best way to get around Panama City? I posted a thread about this here: https://www.expatkings.com/forum/thread-41.html
Metro, bus and taxi are the best options. You can rent a car too if you have an active USA driver’s license. The city is very modernized and you don’t need a car to get around. Taxis are literally everywhere and they pick up black men! lol.September 13, 2016 at 1:06 pm #16201
I missed that post. Thanks for sharing it here.September 13, 2016 at 3:06 pm #16202Mu wrote:Wow this looks great. Do you know a ball park figure about how much it would cost for a week’s stay there? First, you’ll need a daily budget. I was spending $20 to $25 per day (hostel, food, transportation) but that was definitely a low end budget. For a week’s stay, you’ll need around $800 to $1,000 to cover everything (flights, transportation, food, nightlife). The majority of your expenses will be the airline tickets. Most Americans can easily get a job with a major corporation (Verizon, Google, etc). Use the major job search engines but change the location to Panama City, Panama.
Of course, you won’t be making an American salary. I knew one guy living in Colon, Panama who made $700 per month working for Verizon. So take that into account.
Overall, I’d rather make less money but have a rich lifestyle. Panama can provide that for you.September 14, 2016 at 12:55 am #16205
Tarik – In your blog post about the 10 reasons black men should visit Panama, you mentioned prostitution as one of those reasons. I am definitely curious about this. I know some black men feel they are above P4P, but I’m not one of them. I’ve been doing a bit of research in this area and want to see if you can confirm some things for me.
Have you been to the Veneto Hotel & Casino? It has some great reviews on Trip Advisor, and most of the reviews are very candid about the number of “working girls” patrolling the premises on any given night. It seems to be centrally located, so I would be able to get around some good hot spots during the day, and spend my nights in the casino (and with the in-house “entertainment”). I’ve read that most of the working girls in the Veneto will be freelancers from Colombia and Venezuela, and that they are pretty damn hot. You have any experience with the Veneto at all? Would you recommend it for a first-timer?

The Venato Casino is my favorite casino in Panama City. It’s located in a fantastic area with restaurants, internet cafes, Subway sandwich shop, clothing stores and a metro station. I play blackjack at the Venato all the time because they do have some great working girls there. The price is a bit high ($100) for around 1 hour, but you can always negotiate the price down.
The Colombian girls are very attractive. I didn’t see too many Venezuelan girls last time I visited. It’s a great for first timers. You’ll also meet other expats in that general area – it gets a lot of foot traffic from Americans.
I met a brother from NY who moved there 4 years ago across the street from the Venato. There are A LOT of black American expats in NY living near the Venato. I lost the guy’s email address, but you’ll see so many Americans there that you will be fine.
During my first trip to Panama, I took a really hot girl from the Venato and had no problems. When you walk inside, you must realize that nearly every woman sitting down near the slot machines is a “working girl.” Just walk up to them and say something like “Puedes Ir conmigo? (Do you want to go with me). If you want to be a bit more direct, just ask her “Cuanto? (How Much)” lol. The more Spanish you can speak, the better price you’ll get.
That area of Panama City is super safe, modern, and full of beautiful people. You’ll keep coming back again and again!September 14, 2016 at 7:33 pm #16212
